(f) Phase VII: The slaughter continues for eight hours. Macedonian reinforcements arrive from their intermediate position on the far side of the river (1). Fugitives attempting to flee through the close-knit ranks of Macedonian foot soldiers are cut down by the cavalry cordon (2). Porus is wounded and later captured, and his army is destroyed.
